IV Infusion Frequently Asked Questions-
When you arrive, you will be interviewed by either a nurse practitioner or paramedic who will first confirm that you meet the eligibility for infusion services. Your blood pressure and heart rate will be checked, as well as, your lung sounds. After this evaluation, you will be brought to our infusion room where an intravenous catheter will be placed in your arm or hand. The technician will then prepare your infusion bag while you enjoy one of our relaxing massage chairs and large screen televisions. Once your infusion has begun, the technician will periodically check on how you are feeling and ensure your comfort. At the conclusion of the infusion, your IV is taken out and you walk out of our facility feeling the best you ever have!

Getting an IV (intravenous line) is usually quick and more uncomfortable than truly painful. Here’s what most people experience:
1. The needle stick
You’ll feel a sharp pinch or sting when the needle goes in.
It typically lasts just a few seconds.
Some people describe it like a quick blood draw (because it’s very similar).
2. Pressure or mild discomfort
After the initial stick, you may feel a bit of pressure as the catheter is placed.
Once it’s in, the needle is removed and a small flexible tube stays in your vein.
3. During the IV drip

You can plan on being in our facility for approximately 90 minutes for most infusion services. This includes the evaluation time, as well as, the infusion itself which typically last for between 30 and 60 minutes.
